Choose the size before creating the final composition. A vertical illustration that works on 20 × 24 cm may not naturally fill a 40 × 90 cm desk mat.

Match artwork to the selected ratio

Compact formats suit character portraits, chibi artwork, mascots, logos and tight two-character compositions.

Wide desk mats suit character lineups, landscape scenes, gaming-room environments, full-background illustrations and wide repeat patterns.

Do not stretch the artwork. Extend the background, reposition characters or create a separate crop for the selected size.

Prepare a print-ready mouse pad file

The current mouse pad uses full-color sublimation printing on a smooth printed surface.

For a strong result:

• Work at the final print ratio
• Use a high-resolution PSD, AI, PNG, PDF or JPG
• Add bleed where required
• Keep text and faces inside the safe area
• Avoid tiny text
• Check dark shadow detail
• Review the complete crop in a mockup

Mouse pads often sit under hands, keyboards and mice. Place the most important visual element where it remains visible during use.

For a large desk mat, consider keeping character faces away from the central keyboard area or intentionally splitting the composition around typical desk equipment.

Think about thickness and use

The listed options include 0.2 cm and 0.3 cm thicknesses, depending on size. Thickness influences desk feel, edge profile, shipping volume and product positioning.

Do not make absolute claims such as “zero latency” or guarantee a universal gaming performance. Describe the surface, size and construction accurately and let customers decide whether the format suits gaming, work or decorative use.

Plan multiple designs without multiplying the MOQ

A common misunderstanding is that every artwork design needs five pieces. Animepa’s rule is different.

For the same selected mouse pad product specification:

• Five mouse pads can use one artwork
• Five mouse pads can use five different artworks
• Each artwork can have a quantity of one
• The total remains five pieces

The number of artwork designs does not add another five-piece minimum.

Different products cannot be combined. Two mouse pads, two tote bags and one pillow do not meet a five-piece mouse pad MOQ. Different sizes and thicknesses should also be listed in the inquiry so the production setup can be confirmed.

This mixed-design option is useful for testing five characters, several colorways, different series, portrait versus scene artwork or compact versus wide compositions.

Decide how many desk mats to bring to a convention

Desk mats occupy more table and luggage space than acrylic charms. Use conservative first-run quantities and display one representative sample.

Plan around expected visitor count, existing audience demand, retail price, available booth storage, transport method and the ability to sell remaining stock online.

Keep sale inventory rolled or flat according to the packaging method. Show a complete product image so customers can see artwork hidden by the display setup.
